Dakiti – Lyrics, Translation & Pronunciation (Bad Bunny & Jhay Cortez)

A lot of people will close this tab right after they read the following sentence:

I don’t like reggaeton.

There, I’ve said it.

-Then why did you create this post?
– Well, some of my students like Bad Bunny, and I’m aware that this song is very popular, so I decided to sell my soul to the devil.

Jhay Cortez explains what Dakiti mean

I’ve been reading a little about this song and it seems that when Bad Bunny posted “Carro nuevo, música nueva. Dákiti, la sacamos ya?? Ustedes me dicen” on his social media, his fans were on fire trying to figure out what Dakiti could mean.

  • Euphoria feeling when you are in a party.
  • B**ch
  • Slang

So Dákiti is both the name of a beach in Culebra (a small island close to Puerto Rico), and a popular nightclub in Old San Juan (the capital of Puerto Rico).

And it probably was one of the favourite spots of Bad Bunny and Jhay Cortez (a.k.a Borquia).

In the video clip, appear Bad Bunny and Borquia as if they were situated there, in Dákiti, hitting on 2 ladies, and willing to dole out big bucks in order to have a crazy night with them.

Below you’ll find the lyrics, and their pronunciation, written with International Phonetic Alphabet (IPA) so that you can sing and pronounce as Bad Bunny does.

If you aren’t familiar with the International Phonetic Alphabet (those weird symbols below) you can visit the post where I explain all the Spanish sounds and their IPA symbols.

Let’s practice your Spanish pronunciation with the song “Dakiti”.
